What you can do today, is loading all of the data in advance, but hide some
of the data series.
See hideDataColumns in the docs.
For more sophisticated data modification you have to refresh the chart. We
will soon release a version of a lightweight refresh that does not require a
full reload.
No time estimation for this though.
