The first thing i would do was check if direct access through the browser works (not through javascript, directly through entering the url in your browser). If that works, see what it gives, and is that string similar to the string returned by google spreadsheets or any Google Visualization datasource.
If that does not work, I guess that's a matter of your servers configuration and I can't help you with that. - VizBoy.
