Hi, So as you mentioned, most of the size if from icu4j. We found it important to use the best packages, and icu4j is the best solution when it comes to localization.
We think that 6M is not that hugh amount of dependencies, compared to the functionality. As I replied earlier on this thread, there are some other packages that you can remove, under some estimations, and we are working on adding notes to the docs about it.
