Did further testing. Ok it seem this error occurs independent of the iframe in IE8: http://img9.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=44306_Zwischenablage01_122_544lo.jpg
The example in http://code.google.com/apis/visualization/documentation/gallery/barchart.html works in IE8.
