Jack,
Honestly, I haven't been able to use IE8 for my apps for ages. It's
just horrible in JavaScript performance and memory usage. So I've had
to use FireFox and Chrome. I have, however, used the Google Chrome
Frame in IE8 and for a while it was great. Then, they had the problem
with the Chrome 4.x browser, which is a part of the Chrome Frame. This
means that all my IE8 users which (for a couple of weeks) used Chrome
Frame, are now broken again until the bug I reported in 4.x is fixed.
Then, Chrome 4.x will be fixed, and that fix will ripple to the
Chrome Frame.
Then, I'll be able to allow my users to use IE8 with the Chrome
Frame.
Sorry, but I gave up on IE8 for things just like this. It was just
impossible to get my app to run all day in IE 7 or 8.
