Hello Everyone, I've been trying to find an alternative to Microsoft Reporting Services for a while now and I think I have found a good solution.
Using SharePoint (WSS or MOSS) for the portal/web interface that allows business users to customize report layouts as needed. Then using the Google Visualization API for all the charts/graphs. I've put together a YouTube video that shows how I did it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVY7-BB6MgE Once I that this figured out I needed a way to easily connect to a MS SQL Server/other data sources to provide data to the Visualization API's. To do this I wrote a simple ASP.NET page that loaded plugins (DLL's) to provide data from different data sources. I have another YouTube video that demonstrates this in SharePoint. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOsQ5ncqdH0 For those that are interested, I have put the source code and installation instructions on my blog. http://dresslerc.blogspot.com/ I hope this may help someone in the future! Comments/Questions are welcome! Carsten
