I had the same question for an application I had to write. It seems like the creators of geomap hasn't implemented it yet (hopefully soon) but the workaround I used is to get the detailed Latitude and longitude and add it as a marker with a smallish value for example 5. Now it looks like a marker on the exact same place as it should be on google maps.
As for the granular display of regions, I think that is still a long time off.
