Background: I embedded an annotated timeline gadget in a page that's part of an App Engine app. The gadget uses data from a spreadsheet that is shared and published (published but requires viewers to sign-in) to accounts on a custom Google Apps domain. The App Engine app is also added as a service on my Google Apps account.
Problem: When I visit the page with the embedded gadget, the gadget shows a 'User not signed-in' message followed by a 'Sign-in' link. When I click on the link it takes me straight to my Google Docs page -- that is, it doesn't ask for my username/password because, apparently, I am already signed-in. Weird Thing: If I open one of the spreadsheets and then go back to the page with the gadget and refresh the page, then the 'User not signed-in' message doesn't appear -- the gadget works. If I close my browser (but don't clear my cookies/cache) and go back to the gadget page then the same problem occurs.
