I'm not sure I understand. If the question is whether it is possible to disable tooltips in area chart, then the answer is not at the moment, although we recognize this is a valid request.
You also mention there's a bug in Chrome, but I don't understand what the bug exactly is. Can you elaborate? Does it happen on non-beta Chrome?
