With the more recent feature of being able to set labels in a
hierarchy, the original width setting of the labels column **while
already set too narrow for the text required to define some/longer
labels** is now considerably inadequate.
It's long overdue that your development team consider a feature (like
is available on any Microsoft.Excel.spreadsheet or such as is
adjustable for the folders listed in any 'Windows' file directories)
where the column width is clickable or slide-adjustable to set for
user-selected column-width preferences.

This column is sometimes completely unrequired, and hence, it would be
nice to have a clickable on/off button (so that a more full display of
email.subject.lines could be viewed) - and at other times, it would be
nice to be able to turn the column from off.. to on.. so that your
Gmail account-holders could see all of the labels within these new
hierarchies we are now able to set up--so that the entire string of
characters can be read --Especially, since in order to save space -
sometimes the only difference between identically labeled categories
is a simple alpha/numerical indicator that (to make filing work
properly) has to be located at the end of the character-string - where
currently, the way things are now.. are characters that canNOT be seen
without having to hover over the labels until the desired distinction
is determined.

This would be a legitimate reason for a project to be undertaken, as
this way of enabling your users better suits the end result - which I
do presume is Google's prime concern.

Your FEEDBACK AND REASONS WHY would be appreciated -- rather than just
nixing my suggestion as "not in the works"
