Refreshing at a 100ms interval might be too fast (I'm not 100% certain, but I think it takes longer than that just to draw the chart). Slow it down (say to 5s intervals) and see what happens. If it works, gradually speed it up until you see the glitches. That should give you a good idea of how fast you can update.
