In order to make the loading of our maps fast and consume as little client
memory as possible, we have an offline process that automatically
simplifies the border of the countries. Of course we still want the map to
look good when displayed at a reasonable size. At large sizes, such as the
ones you experimented with, you can see the simplification very well.

One of the symptoms of this simplification is that small countries may
disappear, or, as in Belize and El Salvador, turn into lines.
You can still hover over that line and get events, but sadly we don't know
how to fill a line :)

Until we improve the simplification algorithm, you can always use regional
maps (e.g., Central America - region: '013') to see small countries.
