Thanks for the feedback, we'll look into it. In the mean while, try to change the type of the first column of the data you feed the chart editor from number to string. I'm not sure how easy or hard that would be, as it depends where you get your data from (inline in the javascript, a query to a server you own, a query to a server you don't own), which is something I don't know.
