The developer console in Chrome is what I use for my debugging.  Firefox, 
Opera, Safari, and IE9 all have similar capabilities if you prefer to use 
them.  IE8 and earlier do not have built-in developer tools; there is a 
(alpha stage) tool called IE Tester that can load instances of IE in 
multiple versions (all the way back to 5.5 if memory serves) and brings 
some developer tool functionality to them.
