There are known compatibility issues between the Visualization API and the 
prototype javascript library (see bug reports 
here<http://code.google.com/p/google-visualization-api-issues/issues/detail?id=288>and
 
here<http://code.google.com/p/google-visualization-api-issues/issues/detail?id=299>
 - 
you can "star" those issues to be informed of updates).  Some people have 
reported that their issues go away when using other versions of prototype, 
so you may want to try versions other than 1.6.0.3.
