You can't do that with an AnnotatedTimeline chart.  If you switch to a 
LineChart (perhaps using my AnnotatedTimeline migration 
tool<https://groups.google.com/d/msg/google-visualization-api/Y4ZmqWAjjPg/Uwr8eoWo6goJ>?),
 
there is a way to cheat to make this work.

As an aside, the Google Finance charts don't use the Visualization API.
