Hi Sergey,
Thank you for looking into this. I work for the Study Abroad office at the
University at Albany, and we recently created an interactive map using
Google's GeoChart (with Carlos Moreira's help). We have a study abroad
program in Antarctica for students interested in Biology research, and the
fact that the continent is currently not recognized by the GeoChart ended
up being problematic for us. In the end, we ended up having to overlay an
image of Antarctica on top of the GeoChart so that we could show students
that we have a program in Antartica, instead of the alternative (which was
to put a random marker near where Antarctica would be). See our page here
for more details: http://www.albany.edu/studyabroad/map.shtml#program.

We could have saved a lot of time just having the continent being
recognized from the beginning, and we'd still prefer to have this option in
the future instead of a picture overlay. Fingers crossed that the Google
team can take care of this at some point.

-Austin
