The motion chart is written in flash (currently) so we are unlikely to add
any more features to it. We are also thinking about how to support motion
chart in non-flash normal svg, but we have no current plans for when that
will be available.
At best, if you can provide formatted values rather than use default date
formats, you might get what you want. You'd have to do this for both the
values and the axes, but I just tried this, and while you are allowed to
provide the formatted and unformatted values of each cell (e.g. {v: new Date
(1988,0,1), f:"testing"} ) it doesn't use the formatted value.
However, I like the idea of supporting a relative time of years, similar to
the timeofday type that supports a number of hours, minutes, seconds, and
milliseconds. I am looking into adding that to gviz core charts in some
form, though it probably won't happen very soon.
