The "certainty" role is the only way to change the line style.  To get a 
dotted line, you could set the "lineWidth" option to 0 and the "pointSize" 
option to a value greater than 0, but that would only have dots where you 
have data points.

I don't know what the formula used for the curve is - maybe one of the devs 
can enlighten us?
