The options for the current flash-based motion chart are rather limited,
and there is no way to specify the format for the date.

We are in the process of reimplementing the motion chart, however, using
the non-flash based corecharts, so it will be much easier to specify this
option, among many others.  It will be a couple months before we can expect
to release this new implementation.
