We have pushed a new release candidate (RC) - V38. This RC introduces Point Shapes and a number of significant fixes and enhancements to ticks and axes, explorer mode, chart editor, and to several chart types.
Candidate release date: Feb 27, 2014 On this date, users can switch to the new version of Google Charts by loading version 1.1 of the visualization library<https://google-developers.appspot.com/chart/interactive/docs/quick_start> . Anticipated production release date: March 13, 2014 On this date, Google Charts 1.1 will move to 1.0, and all users will be using release 38. - Point Shapes - Top-level ‘pointShape’ option, or per-series. - For example: pointShape: { type: ‘square’ } - Add ‘strokeDashStyle’ option for brushes. - Explorer mode - Fix for date, datetime, and timeofday axes. - Fix to avoid failure with discrete value axes. - Add pinch-to-zoom for mobile. - Chart editor - Various improvements to switching tabs. - Added Aria labels. - Added ‘auto’ gridline option. - Timeline - Add option to turn off tooltips. - Add ability to select items. - Added ‘style’ role support. - Sankey - Check for cycles - Thinner nodes and lighter links - Calendar - Added selection support. - Support datetime as well as date type of data. - Added ‘style’ role support. - Improvements to color and style. - Histogram - Fix tooltips - AnnotationChart - Fix for animation of annotations and intervals (applies to all corecharts). - Fix for date and time axis with very short range. - Change color of range selector line to match chart color. - Miscellaneous - Explicit ticks fixed so default formatting works better. - Logscale now always uses variable number of gridlines. - New tick generator for date, datetime, and timeofday when used with option for a variable number of gridlines. - Treat NaN values as null, and handle isolated values (surrounded by null values), specifically for LineChart and AreaChart. - New option for TableChart: 'keepScrollPosition'. - Support ‘labeled’ legend for AreaChart. - Fix ComboChart when bars are mixed with other types and gaps result. - Custom images for Map chart. Documentation for these features is forthcoming. If your system uses the Visualization API for commercial and / or important production purposes we recommend you test the RC and use the opportunity to provide feedback to us prior to the production release.
