Assuming that you have put the records in a Visualization API DataTable object, you can call the #getNumberOfRows method to get a count of records. If you're talking about something else, then a) you'll have to be more specific about your context, and b) this group is probably not the right place to ask for help (since it is specific to the Visualization API).
