Hi, we haven't change the GeoChart in a really long time, and haven't changed the GeoMap in even longer. In any case, the GeoMap is extremely deprecated and we do not recommend that anyone use it. The GeoChart, on the other hand, is alive and kicking. As you can see by this example, http://jsfiddle.net/eky7fadr/ , both Switzerland and Austria work just fine both with full names and region codes.
