The documentation here <https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/overlays> describes adding an overlay to a chart so that the overlay moves with the data shown on the chart. I am trying to do something similar with the chart I have created here <https://8ecb5af201871128720afbf183ea6421e18b4278-www.googledrive.com/host/0B-onvFkia1zaOEQyREFiM21lbGM/> (a screenshot of which is shown below). However, I keep getting the error "this.getChartLayoutInterface is not a function". I believe the only possible explanation for this is that the function is not being properly connected to the chart object. To say the least, I don't understand what the differences between the example chart and my chart are (though the are obviously several) that would cause this.
<https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-n6sCYGjwnVQ/VVTPJWRM-wI/AAAAAAAAOqE/xnKB0s3bDP0/s1600/Capture.PNG> Ultimately, I am just trying to add a gradient key to define what the gradient background of the plot means and position it such that it looks like it is part of the legend. I would just hard-code the coordinates into the webpage, but the width of the chart is defined as a percentage of the width of the screen. Therefore, the only option I can think of is to position the gradient such that it is attached to the plot area in some way (possibly midway between the two sides). Whatever I end up doing, I want to be able to access the chart layout interface to be able to experiment with the options available there. Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. If you need any further information, I'd be happy to provide it. Just ask. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Visualization API" group.
