I'm making an infographic of each time a song was played. The data include: 151 songs, plotted in order of debut date Each data point is a specific date The 151 songs have 8 categories of songwriter, which requires a different symbol for each songwriter.
Thus, the x-axis is date, the y-axis is song. The data can be plotted with the y-value of 1-151, and each y-value would have multiple x-values (the different dates played), thus resulting in a row of data points for each of the 151 songs. I want the songs labeled on the y-axis, and I want the specific date of each dot to show up when the cursor is hovering over the point. I'm having problems figuring out how to do this in Google (I'm sure having a database program would be better and facilitate some of these needs) In Excel, I brute forced it by plotting each of the 151 data sets individually, and paste-special each one, change the symbol to the appropriate one, then copy the graph into Adobe Illustrator and manually change the number (1-151) to the song name, export as PDF. Thus, each song had two columns, the date of the song played in one column, and the 2nd column was the number of the sequence it was debuted (from 1-151). Thus, something like this for each song (and for each songwriter): 2/5/89 120 2/7/89 120 2/11/89 120 3/27/89 120 3/31/89 120 4/11/89 120 4/28/89 120 7/7/89 120 7/17/89 120 8/5/89 120 10/15/89 120 10/23/89 120 10/25/89 120 12/6/89 120 12/30/89 120 2/27/90 120 3/21/90 120 3/30/90 120 There must be a way to do this using Google Charts......any help much appreciated. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Visualization API" group.
