I don't know if any of the Google team have considered this but it would be 
really cool if Sankey charts could incorporate some of the functionality 
that you have in Treemaps. What I imagine is being able to left-click on a 
Sankey node to see the child nodes, and to right-click and make them 
disappear again. This would be helpful for complex hierarchies where 
Sankeys start looking like spaghetti at some point.
