Hi Tim,

The 'range' control on the bottom of the AnnotationChart could be used with
your own charts by using the ChartRangeFilter control in a dashboard.  See
https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/gallery/controls

If you try this, you'll find there are some significant differences,
however.  In particular, we use the ChartRangeFilter not to do filtering,
but to get its date range and set the viewWindow min and max of the chart
instead, which is more like what the explorer mode does.   It is possible
for you to do that too, but just not so obvious.
