Apologies for the "spam". I have tried updating the robot api to the
one that was released yesterday... to no avail. I have also checked
and my cron jobs are running correctly... they are retrieving all the
data etc, but these changes are not being propagated to the wave. I
did think maybe google have updated the cron mechanism as at present I
checks for a cron event using "bundle.getEvents().size() == 0", so I
changed the code so it would print something out whenever any event
occurred. But no luck here either. As Piers pointed out I can confirm
that it seems to be a problem somewhere between the cron event being
called and the robot posting to the wave.

Anyone else got any suggestions?
