Is it possible you're trying to perform an AJAX request to a domain other than the one hosting the gadget? Does your browser's error console give you any details? > i prefer to write my web applications in PHP. > Does anybode have experience with that? If persisting your state to the wave itself won't do, I think the AJAX approach is the best approach here, and it doesn't matter where it's hosted or what language you use, since gadgets are functionally just web pages.
