Hi developers - When we first launched the preview of Google Wave in September to users, we had a fairly simple "extension gallery" - a single wave that was linked off the "Welcome Wave" and contained just a handful of extension installers. It has always been our vision to have a more discoverable and scalable extensions gallery in Wave, and, as a step in that direction, we're introducing an improved UI for browsing extensions.
Upon logging into Wave Sandbox, you should see an "Extensions" link in the navigation panel on the left. After clicking on that link, you will see the search panel fill with extension waves. You can then open the waves that look interesting and install them by clicking "Install" on the installer puzzle piece. As we find new extensions that are polished and ready for users, we will add them to that gallery, so you can check back every so often to find what's new. Of course, we're also planning to enable this "Extensions" link for all users on Wave Preview in the coming weeks, so that they will have the same experience. As we want to make sure users aren't overwhelmed by lots of extensions when they first click "Extensions", we will have that link show a small set of featured extension waves. To make sure users still have a way of seeing all the submitted extensions, we will link to the more comprehensive gallery from the "Read me first" wave. In the future, we plan to make it easier for users to see "All", and also to drill-down by categories and tags. While we do plan to add more features to the gallery, we're really excited about the increased discoverability of extensions from this UI addition. We hope it encourages you to continue creating amazing extensions for users. If you have created an extension and think it's ready for prime time, please submit it here: http://wave-extensions-gallery.appspot.com/ We are also looking forward to hearing your ideas about what you want to see in a gallery. Please try it out, and share your feedback in the forum. - pamela -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Wave API" group.
