This is the patch mentioned in my earlier mail (below); turns out I had the whole thing working, but losing because my Windows box isn't happy even with Showcase hosted (legacy with IE8; I can't check oophm with FF3.5b4), which seems to confirm that it's independent. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Freeland Abbott <[email protected]> Date: Wed, Jun 3, 2009 at 4:41 PM Subject: design doc discussion: default locale handling & config props in providers To: GWTcontrib <[email protected]>
The two topics may seem unrelated, but allowing property providers to notice configuration properties is important to how I want to address problems with the locale "default". Details are here<http://code.google.com/p/google-web-toolkit/wiki/DefaultLocaleBinding>, but in short I want to make the default locale not be "default" (which has e.g. no sane currency symbol), but instead be some actual locale set by the user, which would become embedded in the property provider for "locale." Comments? I've got much of a patch, from prior cycles with John Tamplin, but the bit about exposing configuration properties to providers seems interesting enough to warrant large discussion. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Web-Toolkit-Contributors -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
