I'm not going to wade into the argument over the tone of posts. I find the whole thing tiresome and stress-inducing. If you want something done, and we haven't had time or a particularly pressing need to do it yet, be civil and post a simple, straightforward patch. There are about a million things that we need to work on, and expressing incredulity that we haven't gotten to one that you want dealt with isn't helping.
