Eagerly looking forward to how you intend to fix this, as I do think it's (almost) impossible given the wide range or browser inconsistencies re. parsing HTML (unless you impose very strict constraints on the elements' content model, which would probably have a bad impact on forwards compatibility; or you find another way to find the elements than by "counting steps", e.g. adding a dummy attribute (how about the ui:field="" attribute from the ui.xml?), but that'd probably change the microbenchmark's results). -- http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Web-Toolkit-Contributors
