In your case, support for java.util.logging was merged into master a while ago. There was the gwt-log project before then, but it's been in gwt-user since at least 2.2: http://grepcode.com/file/repo1.maven.org/maven2/com.google.gwt/gwt-user/2.2.0/com/google/gwt/logging/Logging.gwt.xml
