Editor and RF have a dependency on the ConstraintViolation interface 
(mostly as "consumers", but RF also implements it to map violations 
received by the server to the Receiver's onConstraintViolations)

Nobody maintains Bean Validation support in GWT (on roadmap, nobody to 
review patches, etc.), so I think everything's possible, provided you don't 
break backwards compatibility.
The short-term goal is to have GWT compile with a JDK 8, anything else is 
bonus, but shouldn't slow you down.
I'll advocate to split it into a separate project after 2.7 (or maybe for 
2.7 if it takes too much time/energy to update it for JDK 8)

Have a look at commit logs, and possibly refer to their corresponding 
review (there should be links in most commits; and when there's not and 
there's a Change-Id, you can copy/paste it to Gerrit's search box)
