My problem was different, and it was due to using a munged SVN checkout.

Your issue appears to be caused by the way IE renders the DOM. I don't  
think there is an easy way to fix that without actually parsing the  
text and looking for attributes with integer values and quoting them  
yourself ... though I could be wrong.
