Hi, I am currently building a GWT UI that can interface with our backend application. Our backend application push out text-based event messages through socket. What I need to do is to receive those messages, filter them, and then display some meaningful notice to the users using the Web UI. All these are done real-time.
Could someone suggest the best way of doing that? How can I have a live Java program that listens on the socket and process the incoming messages? And how can that Java program interacts with Servlet that can then push the message out to the web front end users? Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
