Thanks for your very elaborate answer! I spend some time googling around to see what other peoble do. I think a nice way of separating the three entities is implementing the Observer/Observable interfaces. Possibly the PropertyChangeSupport interfaces. However, these are not directly available in GWT (yet) and the later requires GWTx.
