1) Maybe there is a cache somewhere that needs to be flushed (start with the browser cache)?
2) You might try using a different version of the Maps API: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/#API_Updates 3) Are you browsing the internet through a proxy? could that be getting in your way? 4) If that doesn't solve the issue, you could try configuring some kind of sniffer/proxy to print out the requests your browser is making.
