I don't think so. Maybe there is a different hook in new browsers but the 
user can still just hard kill the browser process or do a hard 
shutdown/restart of the host or the internet connection is lost when the 
user closes the window.

So overall I would not rely on that last request before the user leaves 
your app. Using onWindowClosing can make things nicer but your app should 
also assume that a user can be gone at any time without telling you and 
your should deal with that situation accordingly.
