I've been using Eclipse Mars 4.5 with the Google Plugin for Eclipse 4.4
listed on the GWTProject site ( https://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/4.4 ).
 The current version is 3.8.0v201410302155-rel-r44 which has been working
ok with GWT 2.7.0 which I downloaded separately and added.

I have been reading about 2.8 and found that the GWT Eclipse plugin
<http://gwt-plugins.github.io/documentation/gwt-eclipse-plugin/Download.html>
is the suggest one to use with 2.8. So tried to install it and Eclipse
told me that the one I have installed currently is newer. It shows version
0.0.0.201601131605 which by the date looks to be newer, but obviously 0.0.0
is lower than 3.8.0, so Eclipse thinks it's older.

So my question is, which one should I be using?

Secondly, why are there multiple versions and why are they numbered so
inconsistently?
