I have tried the ChangeHandler and doesn't do what the use case needs. 

I have tried implementing addBitlessDomHandler but I can't quite get it to 
work either.

Looking over what i wrote I wasn't specific on the behavior.  The button 
will be disabled until the user begins to type in the textbox.  I have 
found when you drag n drop text in to the textbox the button doesn't enable 
until you do a key down or key up action.  I have also found cutting text 
from the textbox with the mouse the button does not disable.
