I had great success with https://github.com/nmorel/gwt-jackson, which is a json library written for gwt that emulates much of jackson's functionality. But note that it uses gwt generator infrastructure and hence is not forward-compatible with future GWT3. There's also https://github.com/vegegoku/gwt-jackson-apt that should be forward compatible with GWT3, but I haven't tried it out yet. Instagram also has something, but I haven't tried that either: https://github.com/Instagram/ig-json-parser
