I am on 2025.2.4 on Linux 6.8.0. I can run GWT (2.12.1) inside IntelliJ (IDEA), with jetty 12.0.29. I don't use maven, so, my usage is probably different from yours.
I have a simple write-up on how to set up GWT + jetty inside IntelliJ. Unfortunately, IntelliJ does not work well with jetty 12.1. https://medium.com/programming-is-life/how-to-run-jetty-12-and-gwt-inside-intellij-4a5e134bc397 Always, many thanks to the maintainers of GWT.
