Indeed the method only works in IE and not in FF, Safari, Chrome, Opera. I even tried using Element.innerWidth and it still did not do the job for these browsers.
I do hope the GWT team can just include stuff like this in the main API instead of having to figure out which method and property to get for different browsers.
