If you're using eclipse (and probably most of the other IDEs), ant comes bundled with it so you can just use it.
I just do this: set PATH=%PATH%;[ECLIPSE_HOME]/plugins/org.apache.ant_ [VERSION_BUILD_NUM]/bin and have ant available to run a build.
