This seems a similar issue as with GWT 1.5.3, in that both seem to require a 32bit JVM to run properly. I have applied the same workaround (downloaded and installed a 32bit JRE 1.6.0) and used it in the Eclipse project as well as in the Run Configuration.
This seems to be doing the trick (I can get the sample app up and running) but I still do get the following error messages: Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module": /usr/lib/ gtk-2.0/modules/libcanberra-gtk-module.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgioremote-volume-monitor.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgioremote-volume- monitor.so /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgiogconf.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgiogconf.so /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so So I am just wondering whether there is more than ought to be done, and/or I'm missing something.
