HostedBrowser == GWTShell wrt to the embedded browser engine.
Windows: IE (the one installed; though be aware that IE8 defaults to
IE=EmulateIE7 mode when embedded, unless a specific API call is made
to switch it to IE8 mode)
MacOS X: WebKit (the one used by the installed Safari AFAIK, but I
might be wrong)
Linux: Mozilla 1.7.x (AFAICT, this is the same engine as Firefox 1.5)

I think it doesn't (though I do not use linux so I can't really tell)
