You can still use Spring MVC with GWT, but if your entire UI is going to be written in GWT you won't be using the View and Model aspect of Spring MVC. I just use it for the servlet dispatcher to direct requests to the appropriate controller which implements the GWT RemoteService. If you search the group you'll find lots of information on how to integrate GWT with Spring MVC.
