Definitely. I just put up my first Open Source package: http://code.google.com/p/asmodaiosgwt/ , for making AbstractImagePrototype's in an ImageBundle into a Map<String, AbstractImagePrototype> , so you can find them by a String(name).
It's a simple bit of code that uses a Generator, took a few hours to write, but it solved a common problem. I use GWT in my day job extensively(for a major Financial in NYC), it has been incredible, the UI in our app is BLAZING speed, lots of custom Widgets, especially Tables ( 30ms display time ), unfortunately, this is proprietary code. It's one of our competitive advantages. If some ideas I have do not conflict with our core business, I'll add them to my package.
